- Measures the diameter of any hole within range of its interchangeable probes
- With indicator set to the nominal dimension and its dial adjusted to zero, the probe is inserted in the hole with variations to .0001″ read on the indicator
- Since measurements are taken by comparison, a set master such as gage blocks or bench type micrometer should be used as a reference standard
