Starrett Mechanics Levels
- Ground and graduated main vila
- All levels have cross test vial, except 4″ size
- 12″ size of both series has in addition a plumb vial, and
- 18″ size has a double plumb vial
- Plumb vials on no. 98-12 and 98-18 are ground
- Main vials are adjustable for positive setting and housed in brass tube with friction fit closing cover to prevent breakage
- Level bases are seasoned castings with black wrinkle finish, and accurately machined and finished on bearing surface
- An involute longitudinal grove between bearing flats provides accurate sealing on a round application
- Furnished without case unless otherwise ordered
- Packed one in a box
- Ground vials are approximately four times more sensitive to movement than plain vials
- No 97 and no. 98-12, 98-18 levels are available with or without finished wood case
